Issues

Property Taxes

One of the biggest issues facing Cook County residents is property taxes. Families, seniors, and young residents alike cannot continue to afford the insane property tax burden placed on them. It’s unsustainable and needs an immediate solution.

As your Commissioner, I will:

  • Support policies that guarantee property tax relief.
  • Demand increased oversight of the Cook County Board of Review.
  • Defend against unnecessary spending that ultimately increases your property taxes.

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their communities. Yet, instead of funding law enforcement, cracking down on violent crime, and demanding that offenders who harm our most vulnerable remain behind bars, the Cook County Board of Commissioners has made it clear that the wants of criminals are more important than the safety of our communities.

As your Commissioner, I will:

  • Stand proudly beside law enforcement, first responders, and prosecutors to demand a return to reasonable public safety policy.
  • Advocate for policies that keep violent criminals behind bars and out of our communities.

Cost of Living

Cook County residents should be able to afford to live here. Yet, the cost of living, from rent to groceries, only continues to increase. This is due to radical policies that lead to higher taxes, more regulation, and a lower quality of life for residents.

As your Commissioner, I will:

  • Support policies that lower unnecessary spending and taxes.
  • Fight to keep businesses in Cook County, which will maximize our tax base and keep residents employed.
  • Implement policies that lower property taxes. Higher property taxes = higher rent and increased costs for consumers!

Good Governance

Elected officials need to prioritize the people they were elected to serve. Unfortunately, Cook County residents have become far too accustomed to public servants who are looking out for their own best interests while allowing basic government functions to fall by the wayside.

As your Commissioner, I will:

  • Serve with accountability and transparency for the people of Cook County, while also ensuring a strong, functional government.
  • Support policies that increase transparency and accountability to the public.
  • Demand stricter laws to end the cycle of corruption, such as tighter restrictions on lobbying and pay-to-play politics.
