SCHAUMBURG – Today, Gabriella Hoxie (R-Schaumburg) announced her campaign as a Republican candidate for Cook County Commissioner District 15. Gabriella is a lifelong Cook County resident. She was raised in Hoffman Estates, attended grade school in Inverness, and high school in Arlington Heights, and currently lives in Schaumburg. Gabriella is a communications staffer with the Office of the Illinois House Republican Leader Tony McCombie. At 26 years old on Election Day, Gabriella would be the youngest Cook County Commissioner ever elected.
“I’m running for Cook County Commissioner because it’s time for real change,” said Hoxie. “I love our community, but radical policies have made it harder to live in Cook County, and nearly impossible for the next generation to thrive. People are sick and tired of the same empty rhetoric and broken political promises that have become the norm in politics. They’re hungry for change – and so am I. We need leaders who prioritize the people they were elected to serve.”
Gabriella received her B.A. in Political Science and B.A. in Communication Studies from Loyola University Chicago in 2022 and her M.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2025. She is currently the Vice-Chair of the North Cook Young Republicans and a Precinct Captain with the Hanover Township Republican Organization.
Hoxie concluded, “My priorities are fixing real issues that affect us every day: addressing the cost of living crisis, lowering property taxes, promoting public safety, and engaging in good governance. If we want policy change, we need to start by changing who we elect. It’s time for a new future for Cook County.”
Cook County Commissioner District 15 includes parts or all of Arlington Heights, Barrington, Barrington Hills, Bartlett, Des Plaines, Elgin, Elk Grove, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, Streamwood, and South Barrington.
